Prodigal Ministry

October 7, 2010 § Leave a comment

Just heard the Bishop of Hull speak to retired clergy from the Prodigal Son. There are twin dangers in ministry: of active clergy feeling they are only fit to be God’s slaves, not God’s sons and daughters; and of retired clergy looking at the younger ones and feeling left behind.

To both God says ‘you are mine; you are always with me.’

Amen to that.
